What to look for: Under first-year coach Dan Campbell, the Lions are still looking for their first win of the season, and they’ll be the 13th club in NFL history to enter a Thanksgiving game winless. With D’Andre Swift leading all running backs in catches (53) and receiving yards (second), Detroit will attempt to feed the hot hand (420). Swift also has 975 scrimmage yards, which puts him seventh among all running backs. Can Andy Dalton, the Bears’ quarterback, slow him down and develop his own offense? Eric Woodyard’s remark
Dalton will throw three touchdown passes as the Bears end their five-game losing run. Dalton has the experience to manage the rapid turnaround, and he’s still competent enough to get the job done against weaker opponents (Dalton threw for two touchdowns against the Ravens). Fields is still the starter for Chicago when he’s healthy, but Dalton could light it up on Thursday. Dickerson, Jeff
The Bears blitzed the Ravens on 28 of 44 dropbacks (64 percent) last week, the greatest blitz rate by a team in a game this season and the most by the Bears in any game since ESPN started monitoring it in 2006.
Bears | Lions Injuries
What to know for fantasy football: With Allen Robinson II out, Chicago receiver Darnell Mooney received 16 targets last week and now sits in the top 20 in air yards this season, ahead of excellent deep-ball possibilities like Mike Williams and DK Metcalf. Check out the Week 12 standings.
In the last eight Detroit games, the total has gone under in seven of them. Continue reading to learn more.
Bears 24, Lions 17 is Dickerson’s prediction. Lions 21, Bears 20 is Woodyard’s prediction. CHI, 64.0 percent, according to the FPI (by an average of 4.8 points)
Thanksgiving Day throwback: In a 55-20 triumph against the Bears on Thanksgiving Day in 1997, Detroit running back Barry Sanders carried for 167 yards and three touchdowns. Continue reading to learn more.
Nagy said he’s focusing on the Lions, not his job position, following the report

What to look out for: Will the Cowboys be able to handle an AFC West defense for the first time? They outscored the Chargers by 20 points, the Broncos by 16, and the Chiefs by nine. On the periphery, Denver and Kansas City were tough with the Cowboys, which helped them create pressure against an offensive line that lacked left tackle Tyron Smith. Smith, on the other hand, is likely to play against the Raiders, whose defense is tied for 26th in points allowed (26.2). Despite the absence of WR Amari Cooper and maybe CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys’ offense must rise to the occasion. Todd Archer is a writer.
Speculative prediction: The fear of Dallas’ pass rush Micah Parsons’ injury, along with the Raiders’ red-zone woes, will force the team to rely on backup quarterback Marcus Mariota for more than just third- and fourth-and-short scenarios. Derek Carr is not nearly as mobile as Mariota. Carr has been in a three-game, post-bye rut, while Parsons has 5.5 of his eight sacks in the Cowboys’ last three games. The Raiders are in desperate need of a spark. Gutierrez, Paul
Darren Waller of the Raiders has 12 career 100-yard games, which is the third highest by any tight end since his debut in 2015. (Travis Kelce has 27, and Rob Gronkowski has 14).
Raiders | Cowboys Injuries
What you should know for fantasy football: Cowboys rushing back Ezekiel Elliott has been kept out of the end zone in four of his last five games, and he hasn’t had a carry of more than 11 yards in four consecutive games. Check out the Week 12 standings.
8:20 p.m. ET | 82.1 NBC Matchup rating | BUF -5.5 spread (46)
What to look out for: There aren’t many NFL playoff contenders in need of a bounce-back performance more than these two. For the first time since 2016, the Saints have lost three consecutive games and need to get running back Alvin Kamara and offensive tackles back from injury as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Bills MVP contender Josh Allen has struggled with mistakes as Buffalo has dropped out of first place in the AFC East after losing two of its last three games. Triplett, Mike
Saints quarterback Trevor Siemian will throw at least two interceptions and complete fewer than 60% of his passes, according to a bold prediction. In last week’s defeat to the Eagles, he threw two interceptions and is averaging 56.9% completion percentage on the season. The Bills’ defense appears primed for a comeback, with 15 interceptions on the season, tied for second in the league. Buffalo has also allowed opponents to complete only 57.7% of their passes (lowest in the league). Due to injury, the Saints may be missing Kamara and a number of other offensive players, notably tight end Adam Trautman, allowing the Bills’ No. 1 pass defense to thrive. The Bills began Week 11 with the fewest points allowed per game (15.0), but they let up 41 against the Colts. Last week, the Saints were rated first in the NFL in run defense (72.9 running yards allowed per game) until surrendering 242 to the Eagles. In Week 12, which defense will make a comeback?
Bills | Saints Injuries
What to know in fantasy football: Bills receiver Stefon Diggs has five touchdowns in his last five games after scoring just one in his first five. He was WR2 for the last eight weeks of last season and seems to be coming into shape just in time. Check out the Week 12 standings.
Under coach Sean Payton, New Orleans is 3-0 straight up and 2-1 ATS in Thanksgiving games, with covers in both outings (2018 and 2019). Continue reading to learn more.
Bills 27, Saints 20 is Getzenberg’s prediction. Bills 23, Saints 22 is Triplett’s prediction. BUF, 61.7 percent, according to the FPI (by an average of 4.0 points)
Thanksgiving Day throwback: In 2019, the Saints won the NFC South championship with a victory against the Falcons on Thanksgiving Day. In New Orleans’ 26-18 triumph, backup quarterback Taysom Hill blocked a punt and scored two touchdowns (one receiving, one running). Continue reading to learn more.
Matchup must-reads: After a demoralizing defeat to the Colts, the Bills have little room for error… The Saints’ playoff dreams are on the line going into their Thanksgiving game against the Bills… Sources: With an MCL injury, Saints tight end Trautman will be out for 4-6 weeks.
