The Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers have reportedly come to terms on a deal that would send forward Ben Simmons to the 76ers, according to multiple reports. The trade would reportedly include Philadelphia sending guard Markelle Fultz and guard J.J. Redick to the Cavaliers, as well as guard Isaiah Thomas and two future first-round picks to the 76ers. The deal is not yet official, but could be finalized as early as Monday.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers will reportedly trade for the 2017 rookie of the year and the 2018 NBA draft’s top pick. Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavs will send two players to the Sixers in exchange for the No. 1 pick. The second trade will include three players.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Philadelphia 76ers have reportedly done a deal in which they will swap two players and two picks in the 2018 NBA Draft.
Ben Simmons will almost certainly be transferred before the start of the 2021/22 NBA season. The three-time All-Star has failed to report to training camp, and things in Philadelphia aren’t looking good. Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, it seems, will not be the key to bringing a championship to the City of Brotherly Love.
Philadelphia may have little choice but to take the next best offer since they are in a terrible situation right now. Simmons has been a standout performer for Philadelphia in recent seasons, but his inability to shoot the ball has hampered his team’s playoff success. Fortunately for the 76ers, the Cleveland Cavaliers may have a very good offer on the table.

Around Joel Embiid, Philadelphia gets shooting, including a potential All-Star in Collin Sexton.
It’s a little depressing to watch how the Ben Simmons saga has dominated Philadelphia’s summer thus far. Because Joel Embiid is one of the greatest players in the game, the 76ers were expected to compete for championships for the foreseeable future. Last season, the big man averaged 28.5 points per game and 10.6 rebounds per game, and he finished in the top three in the MVP voting all season. Ben Simmons was also impressive, averaging 14.3 points per game, 7.2 rebounds per game, and 6.9 assists per game while placing second in the Defensive Player of the Year voting. Simmons, on the other hand, was a catastrophe in the playoffs, averaging just 34.2 percent from the free-throw line and missing all of his three-point attempts.
Philadelphia gets Collin Sexton, a sharpshooting guard who averaged 24.3 points per game last season, in a blockbuster trade with the Cavaliers. Because Sexton is a far more explosive offensive player than Simmons and is just 22 years old, Philadelphia’s championship window is open for at least the next seven years. Kevin Love, at 33 years old, isn’t the same player he once was, but he still contributes shooting and rebounding with Joel Embiid (career 37.0 percent 3-PT FG). The selections also provide the 76ers with some flexibility in terms of potential deals for additional players who can help them win now, while Windler provides some bench shooting. The 76ers may be desperate as the new season approaches, and Cleveland’s offer isn’t half-bad.
With the emergence of young stars in Cleveland, things are beginning to look up.
Because Cade Cunningham and Jalen Green were both gone, the Cavaliers had no option but to choose Evan Mobley with the No. 3 selection in the 2021 NBA Draft. Although signing Jarrett Allen to a $100 million deal was unusual, their roster is youthful and plenty of promise. Ben Simmons is a great match for this squad, especially with Darius Garland on his way to being their future star. Simmons, who is just 25, can play point guard or point forward for the Cavaliers, assisting Garland with ball handling duties.
With Mobley, Allen, Simmons, and even Isaac Okoro, Cleveland’s defense would quickly become one of the best in the league. The Cavaliers need to stop being pushovers in the East, and adding Simmons, a three-time All-Star and two-time All-Defensive player, puts them back on the map as a playoff contender. LeBron James will never be able to carry the Cavaliers again. Because of his unique skill set and flexibility as an enormous playmaker, Ben Simmons may be the next best thing for them.
